Summer Fun!

June really flew by. Here are some pics from this month with different things we've been up to.

Trying to stay cool by the pool, Ashton is a stud in his cute swim trunks and stylin' sunglasses. He's not a fan of being in the water, but I think he will by the end of the summer.

This summer we decided to just get Sydney this little kiddie pool that she can cool off and splash around in, since that is really all she will do and thinks she is quite brave when she does. She has been, and probably always will be, our little scaredy cat, but I'm ok with that. At least we know we will have fewer trips to the ER that way.

I decided to take some new pics of Sydney and Ashton together. Sydney of course doesn't ever want to smile and Ashton has drool all over his shirt as always (even though I had a bib on him up until about 30 seconds before this picture was taken). Oh well, what can you do.

June 24th we decided to go to the Sky Sox game. It was pretty fun. The weather was pretty nice, although it did get a little windy and cooler towards the end. Ashton seemed to really have fun. There was a lot to look at and lots of new sounds. He feel asleep after about an hour.

Sydney was super excited to go to the game to see Sox the Fox. Before we left for the game I asked her if she was going to give him a hug, she said, "Yes, and a kiss." She was so cute about it we decided to get her a little stuffed Sox the Fox. The whole time before the beginning of the game she just kept looking for him. When he finally came out, she was so excited! She kept waving at him and showing him her fox. That was of course while he was 500 feet away. Then he came into the crowd and walked right behind where we were sitting. She got so freaked out and started crying hysterically. The whole rest of the game she kept her eye on him, always aware of where he was. I guess she didn't want that hug afterall. Like I said, she our little scaredy cat.

It's been a fun summer so far. We'll see what fun adventures July brings us.

Pee Pee in the Potty, Pee Pee in the Potty!

Potty Update!

It's been a week and a half of potty training and I'm just about jumping on the couch Tom Cruise excited to report that Sydney hasn't had an accident all week. We even went out shopping today and I had to take her to a public restroom, not once, not twice, but three times to potty, which she did. She is doing amazingly well. We still put a pull up on her at night and for naps, but while she is awake, she is a sit on the potty kind of girl now. I don't think I've ever been so excited to hear tinkling or a plop in the toilet. I am so proud of her.

Potty Training Here We Go!

After a few failed attempts at potty training, I finally decided this last weekend that it was time once and for all. So Monday we did a lot of talking about going on the potty and even made a special box for her pennies. So everytime she goes on the potty she can get a penny and at the end of the week we can go throw them in the water. (She loves going to the mall and throwing pennies in the fountain there.) So far this morning, we've done some sitting, with no success. Potty training is exhausting and it's only 10:30 in the morning. So far today she's had no accidents, although I know that won't last much longer and I should probably knock on wood as I type this. So let's hope that the potty gods will be kind to us this time around and we might actually get one out of diapers. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that have worked for them, I'd LOVE to hear them.
